Who is Braxton Hicks?

Braxton Hicks is the name of the doctor that pre-labor contractions are named after- why they call them "Braxton Hicks" contractions (after a man) is beyond me. Nevertheless, I have been having them- like stop in my tracks and take a deep breath and say WHOAH. It is quite common, but I don't remember having them much with Cooper. I think they are stronger after you have gone through the process before. Don't worry, it is not a sign that we will be delivering any time soon, just a little symptom I am having these days. Otherwise feeling pretty good and tired. I am happy that I have had no sign of carpal tunnel this pregnancy, though we have not reached the end just yet. Just thought I would educate those out of the pregnancy loop what a pregnant woman is talking about when she refers to "Braxton Hicks".
