Louie and Lauren's Wedding

Last weekend, we escaped the mid-80 degree Savannah weather and enjoyed some crisp mountain air and children-less good ole' hanging out with some old friends.

Louie and Lauren picked a beautiful destination wedding spot of Brasstown Valley Resort in the Young Harris/Hiawassee GA mountain area. We took advantage of the fall season and location and rented a Mountain Cabin with 6 of our friends. The house was on a windy single lane mountain road with a back deck that extended on top of a rushing river. It was AWESOME. We ate a feast together, shared memories old and new, hiked a little, and enjoyed all the festivities of Louie and Lauren's beautiful wedding (they even had a photo booth set up in the reception hall). For the 3 days we were driving through the mountains, I think I said "Oh, look at that one" 55 times- I had forgotten how incredibly vibrant the tree colors were this time of year. I was camera happy with taking "couples" shots for some reason- haha. The album is up on Picasa (you can get to it using the photos link near the top of the blog). There were friends we had not seen in ages, wow can I say that already, and it was really neat (for lack of a more creative word) to catch up and see what people are doing now, since our encounters date back to high school with maybe a few college years. Lot's of children to celebrate!

The boys spent the weekend with their Bump-Bump and Doc and Mr. Big the cat. When we dropped them off I had a feeling Carter would be walking like a champ by time we picked im up Sunday due to a few big walks witnessed. He was hands up, walking all over.
Oh and a side note, Patrick's Uncle John Coletta has written an Italian cookbook- we have our very own signed copy. I used one of his recipes for the feast we had in the mountains- it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. It turned out to be the Coletta's favorite recipe in the book and I did not even know it. I will post the cookbook name for reference purposes.
