We have been infected!

So I was going to post a blog tonight about our nice little weekend with my parents in town- going to the pumpkin patch, watching the Dawgs play football, and catching up on sleep.....but instead I am going to share what came over our family as of about 5:45 this evening.................................................................................................CARTER HAS SWINE FLU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are still pretty much in shock and incredibly concerned for his health. He was really showing no signs of even the slightest cold until this morning and then it hit him. Under the age of 2 is at high risk but we are just going to have to move forward a day at a time and see what develops or does not develop. Carter, Patrick and I are on "Tamiflu" to try and stop what he already has and prevent what we do not. I can not even tell you what I feel like, maybe I can, oddly like victims. I feel like we should be sequestered to our house and everywhere we go people point and know among us has been the swine flu. Who knows where baby boy picked it up, grocery store? restaurant? church? nursery school? I just hope it goes away fast. I feel like every time he touches me I should douse myself in Lysol as if it were body splash. We already do a pretty good job of using antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer etc. when in public and at home with the sneezes and sniffles, how was I supposed to know it was not enough? And honestly I can say that I thought this was a whole lot of hoopla. Another Mom and I were just discussing if we were going to get the vaccine for our babies when it was available to us and I was all for it but not in a hurry. They both had their regular flu shots this season, but that unfortunately does not help the other strand. Sorry to keep rambling but I knew this was what I needed, some blog therapy to figure out what is going on.

We could just really use your extra prayers right now.....Carter's health does not worsen, the virus does not spread to the rest of the house, the community does not shun us.

Thanks for your Love and Support. We will keep you updated!
