Patrick's Dirty Thirty

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND AUGUST 28TH. My husband is so wonderful and always does the most romantic sweet things for any of my birthdays and has no interest in celebrating his own......well... this year that was not going to be o.k. Since about May I have been planning his 30th Birthday SURPRISE weekend. It was fantastic, if I may say so myself. He felt the love I was trying to share, for sure.

The two children went on a little vacation with their Gammy and Papa while the two of us enjoyed our own little "staycation" in a suite in downtown Savannah. Friday night was a romantic date night and chop house dinner and a little bit of the bar scene (well a little too much for me). Then Saturday we did a few tourist things and then got ready for the BIG Surprise. At 5:15 I had a taxi waiting downstairs to take us down the street to see what was going on. There was a trolley car waiting for us filled with friends from out of town/ in town/ old and new, personalized koozies and coolers of beer. We headed to the Crab Shack for dinner, b/c it is my husbands favorite food. Dinner was fantastic and then this amazing cake came, I had it made to look like a big silver low country shrimp boil pot....and it did. The night was filled with so many smiles and laughs and kisses. As the night went on, people dropped off along the way, but Patrick and I made it until the very end at the only place he had requested we go for his birthday party (a place in Savannah where it's loud and crazy late night fun Savannah Smiles). Sunday was recovery day, but it sure was nice to be able to nurse our hangovers children free for most of the day.....not something we can do often.

from Patrick....

To all my friends and especially my lovely wife, I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing time I had. To those of you who made the trip I will remember it forever. For those who could not be there, I wish you could have, but you were there in spirit. To those of you (Mickey, Lacey, Louie and Lauren) who survived til the bitter end- I am sure you will not remember it. I am glad Mickey decided not to slide across the pianos after all. Sounded great at the time...... Love to you all and thanks to my super wife for a wonderful memory.

OMG that cake really is amazing, I can't believe how great it turned out. And the trolley is just darling, I'm so sorry I missed it Steph. Looks like you did a bang-up job on the planning. So cute!
